  1. There will be an I-Club meeting this Thursday.  You have until Thursday to sell your 10 I-Club cards. 

  2. Seniors:  The William and Ida Medlyn Scholarship application is now available for students who are entering the field of social work or education.  The minimum grade point requirement is 2.0.

  3. Prom sign up will be at lunch time through Friday, March 26th in the lunch room. Prices for Prom are as follows:

  • Single without a gift       $30     

  • Single with a gift            $35

  • Couple without a gift     $50     

  • Couple with a gift          $55 

  1. HOSA is sponsoring a blood drive on Tuesday, March 30th.  The sign up sheet is in the office.  Your must be at least 17 years old and have parental permission to donate.

  2. The 4th Quarter Program for al IHS athletes will begin tonight after school in the new gym.  It will continue Thursday, March 18th and Tuesday, March 23rd. Each athlete who makes it to all four sessions will again receive a t-shirt.

  3. There will be a volleyball open gym tonight from 6:30 – 8:00 PM in the new gym.  It is open to all current volleyball players and anyone who may be interested in playing next year.

  4. The Aspen Ridge Family Resource Institute is sponsoring a formal dress resale on Thursday, March 25th at the Westwood High School from 3:00 – 7:00 PM.  If you would like to sell your used prom dresses you can drop them off at the WHS Media Center from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM March 22nd – March 25th.  Eighty percent of the proceeds go to the seller.  For more information call 485-3177.

  5. NMU will be hosting a co-ed 3-on-3 basketball tournament this Saturday in the PEIF practice gyms.  The registration fee is $50 per team and is due NO LATER THAN Thursday. All proceeds will go to Teaching Family Homes.  The top three teams in each division will receive T-shirts.  Registration forms are available in the high school office.  If you have any questions or would like to register, contact Jamie Carter at 906-251-1403 or by email at jacarter@nmu.edu.

  6. There will be a mandatory meeting for all Youth In Government members attending the state conference at lunchtime in Room 200 on Friday.  Plans for Lansing will be finalized.

  7. There will be a National Honor Society meeting on Friday during lunch in Mrs. Benaglio’s room.

  8. Seniors: most scholarship applications are due April 1 at 3:15. Please return them to the left side of the scholarship folder ASAP. If an applicant calls for a letter or essay, make sure you write the name of the scholarship on the letter or essay. Follow the hints on the green sheet that is on the table.

  9. AP English students planning to take the AP exam must give Mrs. DeMilio a check for $86 written to IHS, unless you can take advantage of a free exam by qualifying for a free reduced lunch. You must still tell Mrs. DeMilio that you want to take the exam. The deadline is March 25th at 3:05.

  10. All Freshmen Boys who played JV Football this past season are to meet in Mr. Syrjala’s room today at noon.
