Here’s a look at items covered by the Ishpeming School District Board of 

Education at the July 9, 2007, regular meeting:

• Acted to elect officers as follows: President Jennifer Niemela, Vice President Scott Martin, Secretary Kurt Lehmann, Treasurer Deborah Skytta and Trustees James Smith, Lyle Warner, and Shawn Beaudry.
   
• Heard a report from teachers Heidi Heikkila and Janice Bertucci on the C.L. Phelps School sixth grade camp program at the Bay Cliff Health Camp.
   
• Heard a report from Rebecca Maino from the Marquette County Health Department on the Birchview School/Central School dental health program.
   
• Heard a report from the Auditorium Committee.
   
• Acted to set the regular Board meeting dates for 7:00 p.m. on the second Monday of each month.
   
• Acted to approve the Kendricks, Bordeau, Adamini, Chilman, and Greenlee, P.C. and The Thrun Law Firm as district legal counsel.
   
• Acted to accept the resignation of bookkeeper Jamie Coolidge.
   
• Went into a closed session to discuss contract negotiations with the IEA teachers bargaining unit.
